The amazing people at Homes for Heroes® continue to bring home the gold. Homes for Heroes’ Founder/CEO Ruth Johnson recently received the prestigious Beverly Faull Affordable Housing Leadership Award from the Down Payment Resource, the nationwide database for U.S. homebuyer assistance programs. Joining her ranks and gaining recognition is our own, Abby Waltz, recently announced as a RISMedia 2022 Real Estate Newsmaker!
As the National Director at Homes for Heroes, Abby Waltz works endlessly to connect first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, and military personnel with real estate agents and mortgage professionals who can help these heroes achieve the dream of homeownership and save them significant money in the process.
That directive became all the more critical as the pandemic shone the spotlight on these essential workers and the urgency of assisting them to live in communities they cared for and protected.
At the same time, Abby helps real estate agents and loan officers all over the country grow their business with purpose by giving to deserving heroes and causes around them.
Abby’s tireless efforts have been recognized by RISMedia which named her a 2022 Real Estate Newsmaker. This recognition highlights Abby’s work over the past year amid an uncertain environment – if ever there was a time to shine a spotlight on first responders, healthcare workers, teachers and military personnel who sacrifice so much for others, it was in 2021.
Of course, Abby has been doing this for a long time, but this year amid the continued trials of the pandemic she made so much more happen to recognize and assist these amazing people. Abby believes that recognizing those special members of every community who protect and care for their neighbors is vital for real estate professionals. Abby helped orchestrate and launch the first-ever national “For Heroes Day” to further give back to community heroes. On May 3rd, 2021, over 4,000 Homes for Heroes affiliate members visited 100,000 local heroes and treated them to food, beverages and snacks as a way to say thank you for their services.
Her work continues to be an inspiration fueled by her determination to innovate and excel despite the unpredictable challenges of our times.
