      Down Payment Assistance for Nurses (Federal, State, Local Programs)

      In addition to the savings offered by Homes for Heroes, you may also qualify for other nurse home buying programs offered by our federal, or your state/local government. There is down payment assistance for nurses, first time home buyer grants for nurses, and other grants for nurses buying a home. They are a wonderful benefit if you qualify, but they’re only available to those who meet a specific set of qualification criteria. Our local specialists can assist you with these opportunities to determine if you qualify.

      IF YOU DO QUALIFY for a government-backed nurses home buying program, down payment assistance or grant program, AND you work with your local Homes for Heroes specialists to close on a home, you get the government program savings (some local, state or federal programs may have restrictions) PLUS the savings that Homes for Heroes provides.

      Zero Down and Lower Down Payment Home Loans for Nurses

      • FHA Loan for Nurses – FHA loans offer a lower down payment option, as low as 3.5%. This government-backed loan guarantee from the Federal Housing Administration can be a good option, especially for a nurse first time home buyer.
      • VA Loan for Nurses – Even though you’re looking for down payment assistance for nurses, if you served (or are serving) in the U.S. Armed Forces, you may qualify for the VA loan. The VA loan features no down payment! Not to mention many other benefits. Take advantage of this loan if you can.
