Down Payment Assistance Programs and Grants (Federal, State, Local)
Many hero programs flaunt big savings like ” save up to $10,000″, but these programs are simply promoting local, state and federal down payment assistance and grant programs that are available through any licensed mortgage lender.
They are a wonderful benefit if you qualify, but they’re only available to those who meet a specific set of qualification criteria.
HOWEVER – If you DO qualify for one of the down payment assistance or grant programs, AND you work with Homes for Heroes to close on a home, you get those savings PLUS the hero savings we offer (some local, state or federal programs may have restrictions).

The Homes for Heroes Foundation
You Give Us the Ability to Help Heroes in Need
When you buy or sell a home using our local real estate specialists, Homes for Heroes donates a portion of its earnings to the Homes for Heroes Foundation.
The Homes for Heroes Foundation then awards hero grants to nonprofit organizations who assist heroes in need. These hero grants are possible because you and many other heroes choose to use our local specialists to buy and sell a home; adding even more good feelings to closing on your home!
